Which I Made Another Thing

A six by six double wedding ring quilt top.
Whole thing:

The rings are supposed to be varying shades of gold-yellow-tan-white.
The centers are supposed to be blue to green.
The ovals where the rings overlap are supposed to be black.
Close-up of upper left:

Most of the fabrics were used also in my first Aubreyad quilt.
New fabrics include hot-air balloons, in honour of Diana's trip in one. This forms the third ring from the left on the top row.
Close-up of upper right:

Towards the center of the quilt is a house, for Ashgrove cottage :-) The fabric as a whole looks Mediterranean, so it had also made me think of Stephen's home in Catalunya.
Next to the fish above the house are a couple pieces from a chessboard with chessmen fabric (couldn't find any backgammon fabric, alas :-)
I could send you all on a scavenger hunt - who can find the watches? Where's the cannon? The ship blueprints? The precious gems? :D :D :D

I found the watches.
Pretty sure I found the gems.
Uh, blueprints, check.
Oh! There they are, the cannons, the clever things.
Better than where's Waldo.
There's glory for you.
*awed*

*is going crosseyed now*
This is a mind-bogglingly complex pretty thing. I am all admiration but also bafflement at your patience!

They are similar fabrics in different shades of blue.
Here's a better pic of the fabric:
Actually the lighter blue one doesn't have the draughts so much.
But I still think Jack would approve because it has actual charts of the harbour:
Tho he'd complain about all these other useless images in the way *g*
~~~
As for patience I do this mostly when I am managing the kids at home or in waiting rooms. Gives me something to do besides yell at them *g*
Date: 2015-01-25 10:48 am (UTC)I see the piece now. It's tricky to spot, with so many pretty birds with beaks to distract a person :)
Date: 2015-01-25 03:54 pm (UTC)Here would be trickier: Find a bird without a beak (dunno if any are in the quilt *g*)
You can find a non-bird with a beak in the quilt, however :D
Date: 2015-02-07 11:39 am (UTC)This is beyond gorgeous, but I could use a larger photo to appreciate all those wonderful details. You are the quilt maker of the world.
couldn't find any backgammon fabric
That might have been NSFW (or NSFF), so a chessboard is perfectly reasonable even when dear Jack was not so keen to play chess with STephen.
