Oh sailing jargon, pshaw! I wrote my thesis (not doctoral) on Melville's short fiction, I should be fine ;-) Although, I suppose there must be a difference between American and British ships/jargon etc. Ah well. If all fails I'll just get that shiny shiny Patrick O'Brian's Navy I saw earlier *dreamy look* oh the pretty pretty pictures! And history yay!

I admit I took a sneak peek at the first scene already (amazon's book previews are a wonderful thing) and it was perfect.
