Fortunately animals are always popular, and the sea, and music, and tall ships (at least now they are). And that pretty much sums up Aubreyad yay! No wonder the books are so good - they combine all the best things in life :D
The design probably does have other names - like Shadow Boxes. Cabinet of Curiosities is a good one :-)
I will email you the original pics. I actually shrank them here so they wouldn't take over everyone's screens. But as they get bigger they just get fuzzier, I'm afraid. My only camera is my phone and I'm no good at taking pics with it, sadly.
